Ministry Degrees, Teaching Certificates and Diplomas

AFOL offers 7 different levels of study for ministry or  personal development.   

LEVEL ONE:   DBS.  "Diploma in Biblical Studies. " 
 31 Credits are needed from courses in the 100 series.  Although this is level one it is good basic biblical studies which prepare the student for ministry.  All DBS  students receive a personalized course plan showing the selection of courses to choose from.  Every time a course is completed, a new updated transcript and new updated course plan is automatically sent to the student.   As a student, you will know at all times exactly what courses you may take and where you are in the process of reaching your goal. Credits from level one may be counted for BTC, ADM, APD and BTH degrees.  Students successfully  completing level one may request a DBS Diploma suitable for framing.  There is a $25. printing, handling and mailing fee. 

LEVEL TWO:   ADM   "Associate Degree In Ministry"  
60 credit hours are needed for this degree.  A DBS degree is recommended to be included in the ADM Degree.  All credits from the DBS roll up to the ADM degree.
The 60 credits may be selected from courses in the 100, 200, 300, course series.  All ADM  students receive a personalized course plan showing the selection of courses to choose from.  Every time a course is completed, a new updated transcript and new updated course plan is automatically sent to the student.   As a student, you will know at all times exactly what courses you may take and where you are in the process of reaching your goal. Students successfully  completing level two may request an ADM Degree suitable for framing.  There is a $25. printing, handling and mailing fee. 

LEVEL THREE:   BTC.  "Bible Teacher Certificate."
84 Credits are needed for this Certificate.  This good basic biblical studies which prepare the student for teaching the Bible.  All BTC  students receive a personalized course plan showing the selection of courses needed for this Certificate.  Every time a course is completed, a new updated transcript and new updated course plan is automatically sent to the student.   As a student, you will know at all times exactly what courses you may take and where you are in the process of reaching your goal.  Students successfully  completing level three may request a  BTC Certificate is suitable for framing.  There is a $25. printing, handling and mailing fee. 

 LEVEL FOUR:   APD   "Associate Pastor Diploma"
101 credit hours are needed for this Diploma.  An APD diploma is recommended for students preparing for full time ministry.  All credits from the APD roll up to the BTH degree.
The 101credits are assigned from courses in the 100, 200, 300,400 course series.  All APD students receive a personalized course plan showing the selection of courses needed for this diploma.  Every time a course is completed, a new updated transcript and new updated course plan is automatically sent to the student.   As a student, you will know at all times exactly what courses you may take and where you are in the process of reaching your goal. Students successfully  completing four two may request an APD Diploma suitable for framing.  There is a $25. printing, handling and mailing fee. 

 LEVEL FIVE:   BTH   "Bachelor Degree in Theology"
121 credit hours are needed for this degree.  A DBS, BTC, ADM and APD degree is recommended to be included.  Most all  credits from the DBS, BTC, ADM and APD degree  roll up to the BTH degree.  All BTH  students receive a personalized course plan showing the required courses for the degree.   Every time a course is completed, a new updated transcript and new updated course plan is automatically sent to the student.   As a student, you will know at all times exactly what courses you may take and where you are in the process of reaching your goal. Students successfully  completing level five may request a BTH Degree suitable for framing.  There is a $25. printing, handling and mailing fee. 


LEVEL SIX:   Mmin   "Master of Ministry Degree"
159 or 167 credit hours are needed for this degree.  A BTH or BBA degree is needed to begin this degree.  If the student has a BTH from GCBC, the student will need 36 more credit hours.  If the student has a  or equivalent from another college, they will need 8 additional hours for a total of 44 credit  hours. (All students must have taken 8 required credits for any degree)   The 36 master degree credits are from courses in the 500 and 600 series. All Mmin  students receive a personalized course plan showing the selection of courses to choose from.  Every time a course is completed, a new updated transcript and new updated course plan is automatically sent to the student.   As a student, you will know at all times exactly what courses you may take and where you are in the process of reaching your goal. A Master Thesis is required.  Acceptance into the Master Degree program must first be given by the Academic Dean.  If you have a BTH or BBA equivalent you can apply to be admitted . Students successfully  completing level Six may request a Master Degree suitable for framing.  There is a $30. printing, handling and mailing fee.  
 
Application of Master Degree Study

LEVEL SEVEN:  Dmin  "Doctor Degree in Ministry"
And additional 66 credit hours above a Master Degree are needed for this degree.    If the student has a Master Degree from AFOL or a Master from another college, there are 66 more credits from 21 courses required.   A 20,000 word thesis is required  If the student has a BBA or equivalent from another college, they will need to 44 hours. (All students must have taken 8 required credits for any degree)   The 66 Doctor degree credits are from courses in the 700 and 800 series.   Acceptance into the Doctor Degree program must first be given by the Academic Dean.  If you have a Master Degree or the equivalent you may apply to be admitted .  Students successfully  completing level seven may request a D.min Degree suitable for framing.  There is a $25. printlng, handling and mailing fee.
